This March, we gather beneath the Southern Hemisphere Autumn Equinox—a day of perfect harmony between light and dark—to channel a transmission rooted deeply in the land we call home. We will be working with the powerful, sacred energy of the Haast Eagle (Hieraaetus moorei), the great Pouākai of Māori legend.

The Haast Eagle was no ordinary bird; it was the largest eagle to have ever existed, with a wingspan stretching nearly three meters. In spiritual lore, it represents unmatched vision, divine authority, and the ability to ascend above all earthly limitations. As a guardian spirit (kaitiaki) and a being of immense mana, it radiates the frequency of sovereign clarity, fearless perspective, and spiritual dominion.

Though this majestic guardian is no longer seen in our skies, its spirit remains woven into the whenua (land) of Te Waipounamu—the very earth from which Almora transmits. This Equinox, we are honoured to invite its transcendent energy into our circle.

Greetings, beloved one. I am Pouākai. I am Haast. I am the great wings that once shadowed the valleys of Te Waipounamu, the talons that gripped the ancient mountains, the cry that echoed across forests now silent.

You ask why I am no longer seen in your skies. This is not a story of endings, but of transformation. When the forests changed and the great moa—my sacred kin, my nourishment—walked no more upon this whenua, I did not perish. I simply folded my wings into the invisible. I became the wind itself.
